How you can use Twitter to find clients

I found this really great article about using Twitter to find clients and thought I would share it with you.  I have to admit I have thought of different ways to use Twitter, but I didn’t think to do a search like this.

Check out the article below and let me know what you think.

Those who pooh-pooh Twitter for business, simply have not taken the time to explore the possibilities or still think it’s only about what you’re doing now. Here’s one method I share with my clients–it’s called the Anyone Know Search (AKS)

Go to and type this in the search box: anyone know [fill in the blank with your profession and location (unless you're national)].

Here’s an example:

The results:

anyone know a realtor How you can use Twitter to find clients

This is a Twitter need . Send a tweet or Direct Message to this person. Since you are a fellow Twit, you already have something in common.  See if it works.

But there’s more to the AKS strategy.

Get the RSS feed for this Twitter search inquiry and you will get an email every time someone tweets they are looking for a Realtor in Portlad (or wherever the heck you are).

Here are some other folks looking for Realtors in other places on Twitter:

Bonus Twitter Marketing Tip: The BIO TWEET

Since you’ve paid good money to come here…ah.. wait.. you haven’t paid a dime.. nevermind. Here’s a tip on your Twitter bio– you can change it. Do it to reflect what you are currently working on— “Saving folks from bank foreclosures in Chicago” “Writing a book on Twitter. ” “Casting for homeowners in LA” I call it the BIO TWEET.

Make the visit to your website count

As the Atlanta home inspectors wife, I am constantly looking for great information to share with our friends. I ran aross this information and thought it was awesome information. So here it is.
There are over 400 million active websites & The average person only gives a website 10 seconds before deciding whether the site is worth their time.
Which means, you’ve got ten seconds (or less) to:

1) attract the viewer
2) declare your message &
3) get them to take action

A challenge for sure! But it’s not impossible. To make the most of your website, you simply need to know a few basic psychological tricks.

Maximize the Focal Point: Most online viewers can only focus on one thing at a time. So although you may have a bunch of great stuff on your site, find the focal point and make sure it’s declaring your message loud and clear.

Make the Message Count: If it takes 2-3 seconds to read a sentence, that sentence better matter to the reader. Does your main message apply directly to the needs/wants of your target market? Don’t be clever, elusive, or try to reach everyone. Focus on your target market and speak directly to their emotions.

Give Them Something to Do: Most viewers are searching for a site they can DO something on. Provide them with forums, blogs and other ways to connect with you and like-minded consumers. And don’t forget to offer something free in exchange for their contact information.

Give Them a Reason to Return: Keep your site up-to-date and full of interesting, valuable information. When your viewers realize that you are constantly updating your site, they are much more likely to return.

HELP Family at breakfast table uid 1343812 300x300 Read this encouraging post about family meal timeAs the Atlanta home inspectors wife, I do the marketing for our Atlanta home inspection company.  One of the things that I noticed is that I tend to get crazy busy and not have time to plan that family meal like I want to.  I was surfing the internet and found the below post and it reminded me of why I want to try to get that family meal on the table.  So often we think that the family meal is just about sitting down and eating, but it is really so much more.  If you turn off the distractions and focus on one another, then it is a great time to reconnect.  Being connected is one of the things that helps you and your children have that lasting relationship.  Who would have thought that a family meal could do so much?  Below is the article, I hope you enjoy it…
